Launching: Chinese Ornament Christmas Tree 2023

During the Christmas celebration of 2023, PCU Library proudly presented a unique and meaningful Christmas tree named the “Chinese Ornament Christmas Tree.” This Christmas tree embodies the rich cultural spirit of Christmas, depicting the diversity and beauty of Chinese traditions. It was created in accordance with this year’s University Christmas theme, “Chinese Culture.” Standing at approximately 7 meters tall, the Christmas tree was meticulously crafted by PCU Library staff. It consists of 183 Chinese ornament fans and 205 lanterns. The process of making these ornaments involved dedicated work over approximately 1 week. These ornaments are not merely decorations but serve as representations of deep cultural significance. The dominant red color of the Christmas tree holds profound meaning. Red symbolizes luck, joy, and happiness. More than just a color, red on the Chinese Ornament Christmas Tree becomes a symbol of the presence of the Savior, Jesus Christ, who was born into the world to bring joy to all nations. Through this Christmas tree, PCU Library aims to provide a unique Christmas experience, embracing cultural diversity, and depicting the spirit of joy inspired by the birth of Christ. With this Christmas tree, it is hoped to unite various traditions in the Christmas spirit and welcome the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior.
#BookTalk: Meaning Behind The Differences Between Men and Women

#Booktalk series is an initiative where Petranesians, as students of PCU are affectionately known, come together to discuss thought-provoking books and exchange insights with peers and members of the wider community. This edition of #Booktalk takes a unique approach by inviting high school students undergoing internship programs at PCU Library to join the conversation. This collaboration not only enriches the discourse but also provides valuable learning opportunities for all participants involved. Together, they delve into the insights provided by John Gray in his book “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus,” sharing their own experiences in relationships.
