Workshop: Artificial Intelligence for People with Disabilities in Education and Employment

In today’s rapidly evolving digital era, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming an innovative solution to enhance inclusivity for people with disabilities. This Artificial Intelligence workshop aims to introduce various AI applications that can support the independence and quality of life for individuals with disabilities across different aspects of daily living. As a city committed to becoming a disability-friendly city, Surabaya has developed a range of inclusive policies and facilities, from public infrastructure to social empowerment programs. This workshop will strengthen these initiatives by introducing technologies such as ChatGPT and Envision AI, which enhance visual accessibility and support learning for students with special needs. Additionally, discussions will cover how AI can help create more inclusive workplaces and how AI-based counseling services can support the mental health of people with disabilities. Through interactive sessions, technology demonstrations, and discussions with experts, participants will gain insights and practical skills to leverage AI in everyday life. This workshop is open to educators, professionals, individuals with disabilities, and anyone interested in contributing to building a more inclusive future through technology, especially with Surabaya leading as a model city for inclusivity in Indonesia. Literacy Seminar: SMA Petra 5 Surabaya

PCU Library had the wonderful opportunity to visit SMA Petra 5 Surabaya and hold a Literacy Seminar focusing on Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and How to Use It Wisely as Students and in University Life. The event aimed to introduce students to the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), helping them understand what AI is, how it works, and, most importantly, how to use it responsibly in their academic journey. In an era where AI tools are becoming increasingly common in education, it is crucial for students to not just use technology, but to use it wisely — balancing innovation with integrity. The seminar also featured interactive game sessions led by PCU students, making the learning experience fun and engaging. Through these games, students could better grasp the concepts of AI while actively participating and enjoying the activities. The enthusiasm and curiosity shown by SMA Petra 5 students made the sessions lively and memorable. We would like to sincerely thank SMA Petra 5 Surabaya for inviting us and providing such a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. It was truly a pleasure to share knowledge and learn together. We hope this seminar encouraged the students to use AI thoughtfully and ethically as they continue their academic journeys.
