Tidak hanya hadir melalui buku-buku fisik yang mendokumentasikan sejarah, filosofi, ragam motif, dan perkembangan batik, tetapi juga melalui digital collection yang merekam karya-karya seni mahasiswa UK Petra. Koleksi tersebut menjadi bagian dari upaya perpustakaan untuk menjaga pengetahuan agar tidak sekadar tersimpan, tetapi dapat terus dipelajari, ditemukan, dan diwariskan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dari sebuah koleksi, kemudian tumbuh sebuah gagasan. Bersama KIBAS (Yayasan Batik Jawa Timur), muncul sebuah impian untuk menghadirkan ruang yang lebih hidup, sebuah tempat di mana batik tidak hanya dibaca, tetapi juga dapat dilihat, dikenali, dipahami, dan diapresiasi. Maka lahirlah gagasan Batik Corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Batik Corner diharapkan menjadi sebuah ruang edukasi dan sumber rujukan bagi para peneliti dan siapa saja yang ingin mengenal batik lebih dekat. Sebuah ruang kecil dengan makna yang besar: mempertemukan pengetahuan, karya, budaya, pembelajaran, dan masyarakat dalam satu ruang. Yang membuat perjalanan ini semakin istimewa adalah bahwa Batik Corner bukan semata-mata sebuah ruang yang dibangun oleh orang-orang dewasa untuk mahasiswa. Ruang ini justru turut dihidupkan oleh kreativitas dan pembelajaran mahasiswa melalui mata kuliah Service Learning-Interior Design and Styling for Cultural Space, Program Interior Design and Styling, Program Studi Desain Interior UK Petra. Melalui proses belajar, berdiskusi, merancang, dan berkarya, mahasiswa menghadirkan gagasan mereka untuk menerjemahkan nilai budaya ke dalam sebuah ruang yang menarik, bermakna, dan relevan bagi generasi masa kini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sebagian buku yang hadir di Batik Corner merupakan sumbangan dari para anggota KIBAS. Sementara kain-kain batik yang ditampilkan merupakan koleksi milik Ketua dan anggota KIBAS yang dengan penuh kerelaan dipinjamkan untuk memperkaya pengalaman pengunjung. Batik Corner yang sederhana ini diharapkan menjadi sebuah pengingat bahwa melestarikan budaya tidak selalu harus dimulai dari sesuatu yang besar. Karena ketika pengetahuan, kreativitas, dan kepedulian bertemu, warisan budaya tidak hanya disimpan untuk dikenang, tetapi dihidupkan untuk diteruskan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Batik Corner yang ada di sudut Lt.8 Perpustakaan UK Petra diresmikan pada Sabtu, 12 September 2026 oleh Wakil Rektor I Universitas Kristen Petra Dra. Leenawaty Limantara, M.Sc., Ph.D, bersama Kepala Perpustakaan UK Petra Dian Wulandari S.IIP dan Ketua KIBAS Dr. Ir.
