<\/figure>\n<\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Recap of Petra Christian University Library Academic Literacy Classes from February to June 2026 Information literacy class is one of the regular academic support services provided by Petra Christian University Library. Throughout each academic year, librarians conduct literacy classes to help students develop the skills needed to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively for their studies and research. These sessions are delivered through collaborations with lecturers as well as library initiated workshops, allowing information literacy to become an integral part of the learning process. This article highlights the literacy classes conducted during the February to June 2026 semester, providing a brief overview of the activities carried out as part of the library’s continuing commitment to academic support. During the February to June 2026 semester, the library conducted a series of information literacy classes for undergraduate and postgraduate students from various faculties. Most sessions were organized in collaboration with lecturers and integrated into course schedules, while several were offered as open workshops for students seeking additional research support. This semester, the library collaborated with several study programs, including the Master Program in Management, Master Program in Design, Visual Communication Design, Chinese Department, Interior Design, and Business Management. Through these collaborations, librarians tailored each session to support course assignments and research activities relevant to the respective disciplines. The classes covered practical topics that students commonly encounter throughout their academic journey. These included introductions to library resources and services, effective literature searching, academic database searching, evaluating scholarly information, citation management, similarity checking, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic work. Each session combined presentations with guided practice, allowing participants to apply the concepts using their own assignments or research topics. Librarians also provided opportunities for questions and individual consultation to address specific research challenges faced by students. A key feature of the literacy program is its close collaboration with teaching faculty. By aligning class content with course objectives and assignments, librarians are able to provide instruction that directly supports students’ learning needs. This collaborative approach enables students to immediately apply information literacy skills within their respective disciplines while strengthening the role of the library as an academic partner. The literacy classes conducted during the February to June 2026 semester represent one part of the library’s continuing information literacy program.
